Manuel J. Martin, MD was raised in Spain and the United States. He came to Austin in 1979 to attend the University of Texas for his undergraduate and graduate studies.
Dr. Martin attended and graduated with honors in 1988 from the University of Texas Southwestern School of Medicine in Dallas. He completed his Internship and Residency training and is board certified in Emergency Medicine as well as in Family Medicine. For more than ten years he worked in Emergency Medicine in Austin, including as assistant resident director at the former Brackenridge Hospital, where he was recognized with the Weinberg Award for excellence in resident education.
Dr. Martin began practicing Family Medicine on a full-time basis in 2003. He joined South Austin Medical Clinic that year and over the years enjoyed building a practice in which he provided full-spectrum medical care. In 2022, Dr. Martin founded Medical Arts Family Medicine.
Dr. Martin currently holds faculty positions as an assistant professor with both the University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston and the UT-Austin Dell School of Medicine (Departments of Population Health and Family Medicine). He has received numerous teaching awards, including: Distinguished Educator, from the UTMB Galveston School of Medicine, and Medical Undergraduate Educator of the year from UTAustin Dell School of Medicine.
Dr. Martin has volunteered in the community as a staff physician at the former Seton East Medical Clinic. He is a founding board member of the Travis County Medical Society’s Project Access, which provides care for the working poor. He has traveled to teach Emergency Medicine in Europe and Central America and has been on multiple medical missions to provide care in underserved countries.
Born to Nicaraguan parents in California, Dalia has called Austin home since 1998, embracing its vibrant culture and community spirit. With a rich background spanning 15 years in healthcare, she has amassed extensive experience in various fields, including oncology, family medicine, sleep medicine, and concierge medicine, excelling in both clinical and administrative capacities.
Dalia's passion for patient care is at the core of her professional journey. Her dedication is not just a career choice; it's a calling. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she effortlessly bridges communication gaps, ensuring our diverse patient base receives exceptional care tailored to their needs.
Outside the office, Dalia cherishes her role as a mother and finds solace in her creative pursuits. She assists her partner in painting murals, travels to broaden her horizons, and enjoys cycling, although not as avidly as Dr. Martin, our resident cycling enthusiast.
With a warm heart and unwavering dedication, Dalia embodies the ethos of Medical Arts Family Medicine. Her diverse expertise and genuine compassion make her an invaluable member of our team, enhancing the quality of care we provide to our patients.
Arcie is a highly skilled and experienced medical assistant with over 12 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She was born in Veracruz, Mexico and has lived in Austin since 1998. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to providing compassionate care to patients while ensuring that they receive the highest quality of care possible.
For the past five years, Arcie has focused on chronic care management, working to ensure that patients with chronic conditions receive the support and care they need to manage their health effectively. She has a particular focus on MIPS quality measures, which are designed to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
Currently employed at Medical Arts Family Medicine, Arcie plays an integral role in the clinic's operations, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients. As a bilingual medical assistant, Arcie is able to communicate effectively with patients who may have limited English proficiency, ensuring that they receive the same high standard of care as all other patients.
As a married mother of two, Arcie understands the importance of balancing work and family responsibilities. She is highly organized and efficient, able to juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities while still providing excellent care to patients. Her dedication to her work and her patients is evident in everything she does, and she is highly respected by her colleagues and patients alike.
Born amidst the vibrant culture of Queretaro and raised against the picturesque backdrop of Guanajuato, Zulina embodies a rich tapestry of experiences. In 1998, she embarked on a new chapter in her life, making Austin, Texas her home. With a heart dedicated to healing, she has been a vital part of our medical family for seven years, serving as a compassionate and skilled medical assistant.
Zulina's journey in the medical field has been closely intertwined with the expertise of Dr. Martin, with whom she has worked tirelessly throughout her entire career. Her commitment to patient care, coupled with her extensive experience, has made her an indispensable asset to our team.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Zulina finds her greatest joy in her roles as a devoted wife and a nurturing mother of two. Family lies at the core of her being, guiding her actions both inside and outside the clinic.
In the tapestry of her life, Zulina threads her passion for history and her curiosity about diverse cultures. These interests not only reflect her intellectual curiosity but also her empathetic nature, allowing her to connect with people from all walks of life.
